Glovibes & Ellis Miah - It's Yo Time (Bonanza Records)

Bonanza Records is pleased to present “It’s Yo Time,” a dose of tight and funky house music positivity from GloVibes and Ellis Miah. Seasoned L.A. DJ and producer GloVibes has co-produced a dance floor anthem-in-the-making with Ellis Miah, who previously sang on releases for the likes of Soulfuric, King Street, and Ministry of Sound. The result is a punchy late night stomper with cool horn section cut-ups, energetic breakdowns, and Miah’s rousing vocals. The remixes give DJs other killer angles on the tune, starting with Juiceppe’s old school disco version. This one’s filled with enough feel-good emotion to light up the darkest of nightclubs. And Handzoff delivers a different and brilliant retro direction, giving “It’s Yo Time” a pulsating synth-powered take transported in from the ‘80s. This single is primed and ready to ignite!

Runther - Dance With The Devil (Beatservice Records)

Beatservice Records, with a finger on the pulse of emerging artists from the vibrant underground electronic music scene in Norway, presents the latest single from Runther. A DJ, artist, party organizer, and founder of the Run The Rave label, the Tromsø-based Runther has released a handful of singles and EPs. But he’s been holding on to his track “Dance With The Devil.” Appearing in Runther’s DJ sets since 2016, the track made its first digital appearance on the Prima Norsk 5 compilation last August. As a standout on that compilation, and at the request of many DJs, “Dance With The Devil” now appears on its own single.

A slick deep house track with hints of funk and techno, “Dance With The Devil” features lush layers, strange vocal bits, and cool dance floor pleasing builds that lead to a swarm of staccato stabs. This single includes a ‘new mix’ that adds a rolling bass line and a snappy rhythm track for maximum DJ potential. DJ Gomp (AKA Minus Magnus, one half of Atella) remixes the track into a pulsing Italo-techno stomper, while Karl Fraunhofer (Sprechen, PLOINK) devilishly pulls “Dance With The Devil” into the dark and moody after-hours zone. Choice cuts from Norway’s underground … don’t miss out.

Snax (Random Records) – “Oh yeah! All mixes are cool, feeling it.”

Kohib - So Good (Discomix) [Beatservice Records]

As a longtime member of the Tromsø electronic music scene, the multi-faceted Kohib has acted as a club organizer, DJ, and prolific producer. Since debuting on Beatservice’s Prima Norsk 3 compilation Kohib has released numerous singles and EPs as well as the album Make Fire and its remixed companion. In addition to club-focused tracks for Beatservice, Sprechen, Cibicaldi, and SpinSpin NYC, Kohib is also proficient in headier electronic styles. In that vein, his album track “Hear This” appeared on the Buddha Bar XIV compilation.

A highlight of 2012’s Solar Day EP was “So Good,” a fiery dance-floor stomper with Dagny on vocals — before she released her worldwide super-hit “Backbeat.” Kohib decided to test out a newly constructed studio set-up by revisiting “So Good” for one of his renowned Discomixes. It’s a shameless and irresistible dance version that’s twisted and funky, pulling in elements from disco, ‘80s synth pop, and modern house music sounds. Accompanying this stunner is a remix from Reggie Got Beats, the latest addition to the Beatservice roster. This ‘b-side’ mix complements Kohib’s version with extra funk and rhythm action, giving lucky DJs a tough choice for their sets. Might as well play both!

Vanilla Ace (Toolroom) – “Cool disco flava.”
DJ Sabo (Sol Selectas) – “The Reggie remix is funky.”
Mat.Joe (Mother Recordings) – “This is dope!”
Mr. V (Sole Channel Music) – “I Love this!”
K-Zan (Radio Galaxie FM) – “2 great versions. Full support!”
Cabaret Nocturne (MFR / Nein) – Italo Disco Power! I lke this revival.”
Belabouche (Midnight Riot) – “Reggie Got Beats Remix for me!”
SimonG (Volcano Radio) – “As the title says, so good … Nice, funky, and floor ready.”
Richard Hardcastle (Solid State) – “So good indeed! Reggie’s funkier take does it for me. Killer production and hooks on both.”
Bruce Tantum (XLR8R) – “Cute little tune. Digging both sides a LOT!”

Juan Hoerni feat. Terry Dexter - Calling (Cha Cha Project Recordings)

Juan Hoerni, Los Angeles’s rising soulful house maestro, closes out 2018 with “Calling,” a spirited new single in collaboration with house music vocal legend Terry Dexter. Released on Juan’s Cha Cha Project Recordings imprint, “Calling” features Terry’s amazing voice floating over a cruising synth arpeggiation and rhythm track. The production not only recalls highlights of an ‘80s DJ’s underground playlists, but also sounds quintessentially Los Angeles. “Calling” is cool, driving, and sleek as night. An instrumental and dub mix are also included.

The incomparable Roy Davis Jr., who is no stranger to working with Terry Dexter, takes the reins on a passion-filled remix. Roy’s impeccable drum programming creates instant impact, riding over a funky, liquid bass line, swirling string pads, and Terry’s soulful voice. It’s a pure treat for the after hours. Juan and Terry complete the package with the bonus track “Wildness of the Heart,” taking on a classic house music feel with sparkling piano chords, skippy club beats, rousing horn riffs, and disco-flavored string swells. On top of all this is Terry Dexter, giving her all. It’s another feather-in-the-cap for Juan Hoerni and Cha Cha Project Recordings.
