City Nights Tracks is a label dedicated to releasing deep dance music with an emphasis on tracks with a prominent lyrical and emotional content. Making up the core of the label, Anthony Kroytor and Kevin Lett have provided an archetype for its moving, storytelling ethos in “Passing Through”. Anthony is a producer and songwriter for labels like Night Drive Music and for synth pop group The Baggage Handlers while Kevin is a heavily featured vocalist. They’ve combined on a track that’s full of life, ebbing and flowing beneath constant surface noise. Short, wavering synth notes are accentuated by delayed or pitch bending stabs placed on top of a pulsing kick and subtle acid bass line, all unwinding together in a breakdown midway through. Kevin’s beautifully delivered vocal melodies are sometimes sung, sometimes hummed, but always touching. An instrumental, showcasing intricate and groovy music track, is also included for those DJs who would like to take things even deeper. This latest release from City Nights Tracks shouldn’t pass anyone by.
