Sleazy McQueen - I'm Tired (Lost Paradise)

The brand new vinyl imprint Lost Paradise is a return to roots. It’s deep, it’s disco, it’s acid but most importantly, it’s House Music; the kind of house music you fell in love with.

Lost Paradise joins the fray showcasing Sleazy McQueen’s “I’m Tired.” It’s his first single in 2012 and Lost Paradise is fine with waiting this long. Pete Herbert presents a fantastic remix with vocal hooks, fleeting synths, classic piano and heavy bass. On the flip, YamWho? provides a rework heralding the current house sounds of London while leaning heavily on the classic rhythms of 90s New York. The EP closes out with Sleazy McQueen’s Space Coast remix. Space Coast is SMQ’s newest joint venture with J.Collazo and gauging from this remix, one should expect plenty of woozy analog and bass that’s somewhere between a purr and growl. By the way, SMQ is not tired. He can stay up until dawn, at least.

Bill Brewster - “Nice. My favorite mixes are the Pete Herbert remix and Yamwho? version. Hard to choose between them, really.”
Quentin Harris - “Great set of tracks!”
Tom Findlay (Groove Armada / Lovebox) - “Brilliant EP. I love all the mixes here with YamWho? probably the standout. I’ll play this on BBC 6 Music NYE.”
Social Disco Club - “Very good!”
Jay West - “This sounds dope.”
Abicah Soul - “Something very special, almost an 80s groove. Yamwho? remix is my pick.”
Q-Burns Abstract Message - “Solid package … everything here has superhero strength, but Pete Herbert’s rework is the one I’m coming back to. Lovely.”
Soul Minority - “Nice package. I really like the Space Coast remix and Yamwho? rework here.”
Diz (Vizual / Classic) - “Cosmically deep!”
Hardway Bros - “Love all of these jams but the Space Coast remix edges it for me.”
Ulysses (Neurotic Drum Band) - “It’s the uplifting piano house vibe of the Pete Herbert mixes that I like best. Nice stuff.”
Alf Tumble (Bangana) - “Sleazy as usual!”
Irregular Disco Workers - “I love the old school 90s vibe of Pete Herbert and Yamwho? … it makes me think of of Italian spaghetti house. The Space Coast remix is really dark and spacey, perfect for obscure winter season dance floors!”
Will SumSuch (DeepWit / Urban Torque) - “Pete Herbert’s mix is a little slice of summer and the Space Coast mix is lovely, moody, and deep. Very good indeed!”
Al Bradley (3am Recordings) - “Great stuff here across the mixes; Pete turns in a mix which has proper acid/warehouse echoes, like it was found in a list vault from 1987 … class. Yamwho? turns in a wicked bassy vibe, but the pick here is the Space Coast version. I’m really feeling that more sparse deep groove and the reworked vox. Cracking.”
