Sen-Sei & HUGEhands - Wait For You (Viva Recordings)

After the top ten Traxsource triumph of "You Got Something," the veteran house music duo of Sen-Sei (Delve Deeper, Nervous) and HUGEhands (AKA James Druett — i Records, Sound Vessel) return for another stellar slab of deep and funky dancefloor vibes for Viva Recordings. "Wait For You" showcases the pair's musical prowess, with all music composed and played for the single, including some lovely interplay between saxophone and electric piano. The cut is smooth but driving, a tight four-on-the-floor beat guiding the melodic adventure. Cool processed vocals and layers of sublime flourishes add to the track's sensual late-night air. Legendary producer Demarkus Lewis is enlisted on the remix and fully delivers with Deez Flipper Mix. Demarkus takes full advantage of all the instrumentation options as he cuts, loops, stabs, and generally funks-up the source material. A skippy house beat rides under a generous helping of Demarkus's magic, giving the remix a delirious NY-meets-UK feel. DJs and aficionados look no further — this pack's got what it takes. Don't wait!

Boblebad - Nattbad (Beatservice Records)

Boblebad returns to Beatservice Records with his latest imaginative studio offerings, crafting four kinetically charged grooves on the gorgeously expansive Nattbad EP.

Ulf Moen Denneche – better known as Boblebad – is an artist blessed with far-reaching creative thrust. The producer, musician, painter, and visual artist has regularly lit up the Beatservice inventory since making his label debut in 2021. With an ever-undulating sonic signature that's refreshingly hard to pin down, his music has featured on some of the underground's most highly regarded imprints. Boblebad effortlessly glides through Balearic soundscapes, immersive deep house, and unfettered electronica.

His latest EP launches with the title track, "Nattbad." Literally translated as 'a bath at night,' the subaquatic sounds presented brim with nocturnal delight as mesmerizing chords, ethereal pads, and dreamy synths combine over thick bass and driving rhythms.

Next up, the EP's lead single "Papirfly" rises in, its gently psychedelic textures serving as a loving tribute to seminal Manchester label Paper Recordings. Pitched somewhere between the heat of the dancefloor and glistening star-lit skies, the music explodes with euphoric piano stabs, hallucinatory synth swells, and saucer-eyed melodies.

The balmy atmospherics of "Palmesus" are composed around the stereotypical Norwegian urge to travel to warmer climes, with Boblebad summoning a turquoise oceanside landscape of swaying palm trees and shimmering sands to soothe winter-weary spirits. Here, propulsive bass and snappy drums drive yearning melodies and astrally-charged synth motifs, the sumptuous harmonics radiating like the sun's golden glow.

Continuing the migratory theme, the closing track, "Strandliv,' is the toughest of the set. Formed around sturdy rhythms and robust bass, its powerfully hypnotic groove propels floating pads and cosmic synth refrains, again primed to soar across glistening oceans into gloriously evolving skies.

With four dynamic cuts designed with the dancers in mind, the Nattbad EP is yet more fine work from this luminous creative force. Boblebad once again demonstrates his creative flair to stunning effect.

Nick Warren (The Soundgarden) – “A superb EP.”
Andreas Kinzl (Aromabar) – “Nattbad is beautiful.”
Belabouche (Midnight Riot) – “I love this!”
DJ Firefly (Couch Dancing) – “Wow, awesome. So creative and different.”
Sandro Bianchi (Ibiza Sonica) – “I love this release!”
Simon Kirk (Stag Beetle Radio Show) – “Wonderfully far reaching in sonic style. I am in love with this EP.”

Sen-Sei & HUGEhands - You Got Something (Viva Recordings)

When two house music veterans join forces on Viva Recordings for some music action, you know you've got something special. And that's certainly the case with "You Got Something," the first of a two-part single from San Francisco keyboard and studio legend Sen-Sei (Delve Deeper, Nervous) and renowned DJ-turned-producer HUGEhands (AKA James Druett — i Records, Sound Vessel). The pair have come together for a slinky, late-night deep house charmer full of left-coast vibes, dubby flavors, and solid musicianship. A punchy rhythm-and-bass track leads the dancefloor on a journey through affecting vocal hooks, echoed sax riffs, and intricately layered keyboard sections. Col Lawton (Deep Fix Recordings) slips into the collab with a spacious remix of "You Got Something," blending dreamy effects and flourishes with the original's melodic craft. The result is a tad jazzier while gliding further into the deep side, eventually sprinkled with a floor-lifting acid bass line. Both sides of this single are sure to become DJ staples, soon to be accompanied by the release of Part 2.

Hector Romero (Saw Recordings) – “Very nice deep groove by Sen-Sei & HUGEhands.”
Tony H (Dirtybird) – “Both the OG and the Remix are very vibey. I did it.”
Dan Laino (Phunk Junk Records) – “Both tracks are great, but I’m digging the remix vibe.”
DJ Osric (Black and Blue Show) – “Quality house music. Sensational.”
Mike Solus (Housemasters Radio) – “Sen-Sei & HUGEhands, thanks for this. I like what you’ve done here.”
Jon Manley (hOUSEwORX) – “Top notch Deep House from Sen-Sei & HUGEhands. This is a proper feeling.”

Grant Dell - Wicked People (Worship Recordings)

Twenty years after his first appearance on Worship Recordings, dub-tech vibes abound on "Wicked People," the latest release by Grant Dell.

First joining the Worship Recordings roster in 2003 with his Touch Dub EP, London producer Grant Dell has had over 50 releases under various monikers, including Uhuru Beats, Croydon Punks Ltd, Masonic Noodles, and the Chicago Transit Authority. His first release as Tribalation on Loaded Records was licensed to Strictly Rhythm, and the rest is dance music history. As well as the obvious Chicago House and Detroit Techno influences, Grant's eclectic tastes range from Basic Channel to Barrington Levy, and it's the latter lineage that runs most potently through "Wicked People."

The potent rhythm track was originally sent to Jamaica, where DJ Tennant vibed strongly with Grant's foundation. Tennant's distinctive chants and spoken declarations organically took root over the cut's slinky groove transforming it into something mightier. After the results were in hand, Grant added more rhythm parts and effects as well as the snaking, wobbly acid line. Now ready for global sound systems, this track's flawless sonics and powerful vocal performance fit perfectly alongside the moody dub-house sounds that Worship Recordings has pioneered and developed over the past two decades. Says Worship's Rob Paine, "The universe brought us together at the right time, and I think this one is going to rank high in the underground."

Tyler Stadius (Deepsite) – “Love both mixes. Grand & Worship are a great match.”
Shane Johnson (Fish Go Deep) – “Love it! A big, bassy groove perfectly executed. Will feature on the show.”
Adam Collins (Omni A.M.) – “Wicked dubby afterhours goodness. Grand and Worship are a solid match, bravo!”
Lee Jones (Country Gents) – “This is amazing! Can’t wait to play it on a rig.”
Velanche (Urban Landscapes Show) – “Really solid grooves. Good to hear from Worship Records again.”
Hober Mallow (Mighty Reel, Sydney) – “Killer deep dubby sounds, thank you. It’s a really nice sound for the radio show here in the afternoon.”
