San Francisco’s Chance Packer collaborates with Detroit’s Terry Dexter on “Rectify,” connecting Motor City soul with the gritty pulse of The Bay. This new single, released on Cha Cha Project Recordings, is in itself a ‘message to the soul,’ deeply and personally inspired by loved ones lost. Packer — who has worked with luminaries like Miguel Migs, Roy Davis Jr, and Juan Hoerni — lends his crisp, uplifting production to this certified house groover. Intricate drum machine programming and moving electric piano chords work together to fill the dance floor. Terry Dexter — with an illustrious career beginning two decades ago with Warner Bros. — provides an explosive and inspiring vocal performance. Her lyrics point to a spiritual reawakening of self love — a hybrid of house music and hand-raising testament. The remix comes courtesy of the legendary Jovonn (Dogmatik, Objektivity, Deeply Rooted House, and many others) who lends a touch of the soulful New Jersey ‘90s sound he’s known for.
