Duwayne Motley's house music bona fides have few equals. Over the years, the prolific Charleston-based DJ and producer created exceptional sounds for the likes of Salted, King Street Sounds, Glasgow Underground, and quite a few more. "Come Get Me," Duwayne's 2009 release on Nervous Records upped the ante, receiving much acclaim and being selected for Nervous Records' best of compilation, Nervous House 20, mixed by CJ Mackintosh. Viva Recordings was among those who took notice and released Duwayne Motley's collaboration with Zandrina, "Gave Up On Love," in 2021.
Now Duwayne returns to Viva for an exhilarating house music statement, "Saturday Night." A chunky four-on-the-floor club bounce leads to sparkling layers of keys, strings, and staccato plucks as an uplifting vocal, once again from Zandrina, praises the virtues of Saturday night. This one is pure disco dynamite, beaming energy straight to the dancefloor in the form of percussive laser fills. Duwayne has also handily provided a Dub that takes the groove into deeper realms, looping and filtering the main keys while building the other elements smoothly on top.
