Nash La Musica - Go Deeper ft. Vox (Nash La Musica Remix) [Issa'min]

Back in 2016 in Witbank (South Africa), local DJ, producer and musician Nash La Musica was dropping some tasteful tracks and remixes on a well-known local music podcast which was connecting with the wider Witbank music scene. Another local Dj and vocalist, Vox, (who has since sadly passed away) reached out to Nash La Musica via WhatsApp and they became acquainted.

What happened from there is a bit of magic. Based on a true story while Vox was DJ’ing one night, he sent Nash La Musica his spoken word vocals surrounding the events on the dance floor one night in 2009. Nash added his musical touch, and the resulting "Go Deeper" was born.

Utilizing minimal but impactful production using the standard kick, clap, hi hats, chords and a mad tube bass, "Go Deeper", which was never released, has been called up from the vaults to finally see the light of day. It’s sure to be the next classic from the stellar issa’min imprint. Go Deeper!

Citronade (A Martin Denev Project) - Hopenotica (Issa'min)

The Hopenotica EP brings five new tracks of groovy chill-out bliss from Bali-by-way-of-Bulgaria producer Martin Denev, courtesy of his evocative Citronade project. As the previous Citronade EP, Ezeh, drew upon South East Asian influences, Hopenotica brings in flavors of North Africa, the Middle East, and the Caribbean. It's a delicious stew specially made for early doors, the classiest of lounges, and delirious back-to-mine stereo sessions.

"Desert Cat" epitomizes the sound with exotic flutes, funky guitar, and spacious atmospheres traveling over a midtempo four-on-the-floor beat. The title track introduces an impeccable bass line hook right up front, guiding layers of sparkling sound-flourishes and a crisp drum machine groove. A subtle, laid-back disco vibe permeates "Cruizinho," joined by some seriously lovely piano playing. "Sandy Toes" meshes a rhythmic island vibe with dream-time treatments and subdued, jazzy keyboard riffs. The Hopenotica EP finishes with "May and June," feeling like an '80s funk/R&B jam swirled through the Ibizan blender — uplifting, synthy, and filled with a healthy dose of sunshine magic.

Jon Fugler (Fluke) – “Hitting all the right poolside notes with this splendid summer selection. May and June definitely winning the extra cherry and mini umbrella for me.”
Still Rob G (Om Records) – “Desert Cat is super nice. Also digging Cruizinho and Sandy Toes.”
Andreas Kinzl (Aromabar) – “Perfect vibes for the sundowner.”
Dr. Best (Radio Z, Neuremberg) – “Nice summer vibes from Citronade.”
DJ Morpheus (Lysergic Factory radio show) – “Very nice loungey stuff. I dig Desert Cat and May and June the most.”
DJ Osric (Black and Blue Show) – “What a stunning release. Love every bit of this. #playlisted”.

Nash La Musica - Something Soul (Issa'min)

The Issamin label travels to Johannesburg, South Africa for a rousing new EP from Nash La Musica. That’s the AKA of Tinashe Jomairwa, a musician, DJ, and producer on the rise with multiple single and album projects completed. His recent production of “Drum Of War,” featuring Aphendulwa, was named a Premiere pick-of-the-week by DJ Magazine.

The EP’s name — Something Soul — says it all on the tin. This is soulful dance music, masterfully combing the best of deep house and a South African rhythmic and melodic influence. Nash La Musica is aided by the Xhpsa singer Matisse Janda, whose lovely and gentle voice adds a soothing air to these intricate productions. Highlights include the bright and yearning “Away,” the sleek late-night deep house of “Lapha Kuwe,” and the lush vibe and subtle breakbeats of “Qaphela.” These eight cuts will ignite any set, bringing something soulful (and special) to the dancefloor.

Mission Brown - Mindfulness (Issa'min)

Mission Brown is the artist pseudonym for Melbourne-based musician and producer Stephen Brown. The name is derived from the house paint colour popular in the ‘70s and ’80s and also depicts Stephen’s music journey over the years. He began writing and recording music in his youth, drawn to the piano and synthesizers. Stephen’s range and musical evolution is diverse and surprising — at one point he was even found found playing in an ‘80s cover band in Papua New Guinea.

Today, as Mission Brown, Stephen specializes in brooding instrumental chillout and lounge tracks with influences from jazz as well as his own emotional reflections. Mindfulness brings out these flavors alongside Stephen’s preference for minor chords yearning to be saved by uplifting major refrains. Tracks such as “Another Beginning”, “Jasmine”, and “Remember” deliver on relaxing lounge vibes that may send the listener into a tranquil floatation state. Meanwhile, synthesizer-led cuts like “Not Our Time” and “Closer” are rich with swirling pads, recalling vintage electronic music and ‘new age’ textures. Prepare to drift away.

Anatoly Ice (Icebound, Cold Busted) – “Cool Summer vibes.”
DJ Mark Cooper (Cosmic Moonbase) – “This is seriously nice. I’m loving it.”
Redstickman (The Ambient Mafia) – “This entire album is amazing. I love it all!”
Floored Capri (Kane FM) – “Smoooothe. The groove is strong with this one.”
Jeannie Hopper (WBAI FM) – “Lush and beautiful grooves.”
DJ T-Bird (Los Chicos Altos) – “Great production. Grooves reminiscent of Sweetback – Sade’s band on some chill funk.”
Danuta Kurkowski (Acid Ted music blog) – “Summery tunes arriving on a warm breeze.”
DJ Osric (Black and Blue Show) – “A very accomplished piece of work. Magical.”
