Ed Nine / Bai-ee - Heavy House 12" (audioJazz Music)

The audioJazz Music imprint presents the Heavy House EP, a split 12" featuring warm and solid club tracks from Ed Nine and Bai-ee. Both artists are knee-deep in the sound of Chicago … Ed Nine was raised in the south side and started rocking Chicago parties almost a decade ago at the age of 19. Bai-ee, now based in Oakland, also hails from the Windy City, having contributed to local labels like Farris Wheel, Smooth Agent, and Liberate. On the Heavy House EP they each contribute two tracks, creating a balanced offering of heavy hitting drums, rhythmic pads, and gently placed vocals and acid flourishes. As a whole, the 12" feels like a sincere ode to the soulful yet energetic house music sound of '90s. Dive in, feet first.

Bai-ee - How Deep (audioJazz Music)

Bai-ee is a DJ / producer with past releases on labels like Farris Wheel, Smooth Agent, and Poontin Records. Since his last solo release in 2012 he’s been working under two notable monikers. As Secret Studio he debuted on SS Records and saw major play by Maceo Plex, Matrixxman, Justin Long, and Mike Servito. Under his group project audioJazz he put out three notable 12” releases in 2014, drawing high marks from Oscar McMillan, Distant People, Diz, Marquess Wyatt, Tyree Cooper, and Mr. V.

Entering 2015 with his first solo release in three years, Bai-ee steps out on the audioJazz Music label with a stripped down house track that gets straight to the essence of deep. It's a smooth sounding original with classic elements and one heart throbbing question: “how deep is your love?” For those not seeking any answers, an instrumental is included. Joining the release as a remixer, Johnny Fiasco delivers a refreshing, synth soaked update, both modern and wondrously ambient, providing dance floors with house vibes suitable for any time of night. To be commercially released as a vinyl-only 300 pressing limited run, this is material that those with a deep love for putting the needle to the groove will appreciate.

audioJazz - Summer City Nights / My House (audioJazz Music)

Jazz-influenced harmonics and tech-inspired roots mix to create the distinct and eclectic sounds of audioJazz. DJ Bai-ee and musicians Dirty Turk and K Koltz collaborate to create imaginative music inspired by the house scenes of NYC and Chicago. The audioJazz sound is deeply rooted in house music’s past but feels like something soon to come, ‘future old school’ if you will. The trio has ties to New York and Oakland but came together in Chicago, bringing each of their pronounced influences to the group. The result is an exploratory selection of deep house with an inclusive attitude, often featuring vocalists and musicians from across the country.

Following up the more raw live tracked studio recordings of the '7 Inch Music Sessions', audioJazz provides a deep refresher with “Summer City Nights” and “My House”, newly prepped for vinyl release. "Summer City Nights" features the iconic voice of Yvonne Gage calling out for the return of summer nights after a long Chicago winter. Upbeat and hard-hitting, smooth soft pads, classic piano stabs, and a spongy bass line make for a '90s Windy City appeal. Starting off much softer, "My House" makes use of busy drums to propel the track forward before building into a swirl of psychedelic synths. audioJazz’s Dirty Turk steps in the booth to let everyone know whose house this is over a Juno bass that rides the line between deep and driving.

Karizma (Basement Boys / Defected) - "I love 'My House'!"

Aja Allsop (Ketch-A-Vibe Radio Show) - "Grinding beats and a stunning vocal from Ms Gage."

DJ Nova (Rodon FM, Greece) - "West coast deep house meets the east side's soulful sound via the house capital of Chicago. Five stars, no less, for this release."

Available on vinyl now from Juno Records, Gramaphone Records, and Red Eye Records.

audioJazz Music takes a moment to reflect on and release digitally “Your Love is Liquid”. Previously only available on vinyl, “Your Love is Liquid,” brings soothing downtempo vibes like a pleasing afterglow. Christina Tamayo’s seductive vocal combines with engaging lyrics as trickling pianos and lush pads ride on top of a rolling sub-bass motif.
