Rose Rose - Charlotte (Night Version) [Neville Street Music]

Rose Rose, the duo rapidly ascending in the world of house and indietronica, unveils "Charlotte (Night Version) ," a track that pulsates with the energy of the night, released under the banner of Neville Street Music. Captured live at the electrifying Rock En Seine festival in 2023, this version of "Charlotte" is a stark departure from its original form, metamorphosing into a sleek, sexy anthem tailor-made for the dancefloor. The track is a masterful blend of alluring male vocals, expansive keyboard sounds, and a punchy bass line, all driven by a relentless four-on-the-floor beat. Rose Rose transcends their disco-pop roots, infusing the listener with an inspiring, frenetic energy, perfectly embodying the essence of night and celebration.

Legs 11 - Flawless Logistics (Beatservice Records)

Legs 11 return to Beatservice Records with their second single in quick succession, aiming directly for dancefloors with the club-primed brilliance of "Flawless Logistics."

The Oslo-based quartet of Sigmund Floyd, Torstein Dyrnes, Nils Tveten, and Audun Severin Eftevåg have long been a deviant staple of the Beatservice roster. Following their label debut back in 2016, Legs 11 have been serving eclectic soundscapes that seamlessly blend synth-pop, post-punk, and house with an all-manner of seemingly disparate sonic influences.

Following on from the magnificent single "This Is Your Home," this latest musical curve-ball sees the band ignite a floor-focused charge via the boundless energy of "Flawless Logistics." Forged with a new wave swagger and embedded deep in the throngs of late-night rave abandon, the deliciously divergent track sees unhinged vocals power over a brisk tempo. Synth bass drives the cut through a futurist landscape of stripped rhythms and sinister tones. The portent vocal casts a critical eye on consumer-driven culture and mercenary musical forms, and an atmospheric sax solo rises in to augment the searing lyrical message. The vital composition is at once an unmissable social commentary and an irresistibly floor-filling groove.

This hard-hitting jam is the second single to arrive from Legs 11's keenly awaited third album, Welcome Home. Imaginative, uncompromising, and bursting with character, this is yet more electrifying work from a most charismatic collective.

Unconscious Honey - Being A Stranger (Random Records)

Even as a kid, Unconscious Honey, aka Berlin-based songwriter Björn Trenker, was obsessed with the idea that all sentiments can be bottled up in a three-minute pop song. This appreciation for pop craft stayed with him ever since. Fittingly, the creative starting point for his debut album Being a Stranger was those records that shaped his mindset of youth. Deee-Lite's World Clique, Army Of Lovers' Massive Luxury Overdose, and Soho's Goddess, to name but a few. Think Hal 9000 meets Betty Boo.

In 2017, Björn co-wrote two songs on his husband Snax’s seminal album, Shady Lights, an experience that sparked the idea of writing songs on his own, and for the last two years has been working on this debut album. Ultimately, Snax was invited on board as co-producer.

Thematically, Björn’s career work in the field of psychiatry, his sexual desires, and his hardships — specifically losing his sister after her battle with cancer in 2018 — are all distilled in the sound of Unconscious Honey. Further influences were derived from disparate sources; the aesthetics of films such as John Cassavetes‘ A Woman Under The Influence, Stanley Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey, and Todd Haynes’ Safe, plus the work of Gloria Steinem and Samuel Steward. The idea is to translate real life muddiness into pop precision, and the result of this creative work are ten signature, melancholic synth-pop songs. The aesthetic is DIY, while the liberal use of vocoder amps up the emotional impact. Get ready for sonic adventure!
