Here’s the third release from Hadogy Records, a new house music label spearheaded by renowned Italian DJ Haldo. Haldo has a lengthy production resumé, contributing top tracks and remixes to the likes of Transport Recordings, Conya, Adaptation Music, and his own Proceed Records. Eternal City, a production project consisting of Haldo as well as fellow Italian DJ Gianni Sponti and musician Dom Scuteri, found success with Hadogy’s first releases, “Come To Me,” a collaboration with famed Italo-Disco vocalist Orlando Johnson, and the follow-up single “Games.” Now Eternal City returns for the latest Hadogy release “Ego Spanking,” a fun and sexy deep house track featuring the wonderful vocals of stunning model/singer/actress Melanie Gerren.
Haldo’s worked with Melanie before on tracks like “The Sky” and “I Can’t Wait,” and this new partnership with the other members of Eternal City effortlessly yields another house music staple for nightclub sets. Melanie’s lyrics and delivery are saucy and slightly naughty, guaranteeing a smile and a good time for the dance floor. In Haldo’s Original Mix, punchy keys, a solid four-on-the-floor bounce, and a funky bass line compliment the vocals perfectly creating a bit of house music magic. Haldo also provides his Deep Mix which suggests a more vintage feel through bright strings, a steady low end, and a some added swing to the groove. The other Eternal City members also join in with remix treatments, first with Dom “Mod” Scuteri’s lush and dynamic synth-pad filled version, followed by Gianni Sponti’s subdued yet driving deep ride. As a bonus, the package also contains a mix from a DJ newcomer from Rome, Santo, and his atmospheric, chill-out dub of “Ego Spanking” that’s filled with imaginative sonic surprises. These five cuts make up Eternal City’s brilliant single, boasting a mix for vocal house music DJs of almost any taste.
