Vested Soul - Love Trap (Super Hi-Fi Recordings)

The eclectically electric Vested Soul strike again with another double A-side single of sleekly designed slinky deep house. The party starts with "Love Trap," a down-and-dirty lovemaking anthem that features bubbling arpeggiations, cooing vocal phrases, and a glittering sonic sphere in the shape of a giant disco ball. Thomas Blondet (Rhythm & Culture) lays down some smooth magic on the remix, amassing a massive bass line that'll levitate dancers at least two generous inches off the dancefloor.

Flip the digital wax for "Set Piece," opening in a contemplative mood with popping percussion and swirly pads. Once the bass and filtered chord stabs hit, it's off to the boogie zone. There's a definite bounce per ounce in Vested Soul's groove cooler. Nu-disco legend and the Insect Queen man himself Ursula 1000 grabs "Set Piece" by the sleeve and rearranges its outfit in a new fashion. And that fashion draws upon synth-pop of the '80s, funky house of the '90s, and the sublime punchiness of modern times. It's a cornucopia of delicious vibes, all coming strong from Vested Soul and friends.

Vested Soul - Unite Forever (Super Hi-Fi Recordings)

Frank Cueto of All Good Funk Alliance unleashes the latest from his sly synth-funk side-project, Vested Soul. This double A-side single begins with "Vibin," featuring deep keys, skippy beats, rhythmic vocal drops, and swirly textures that will effortlessly charm the most sophisticated of dance floors. Flip the virtual wax for "Unite Forever" — this cut's deceptively mellow intro leads into some serious go-go inspired downtempo beats. Vested Soul's trademark smooth chords and layered synth melodies add a futuristic spacefaring vibe to the track's percussive foundation. Delightfully modern and nightclub potent, Vested Soul can be counted on to drop the stylistic flavors.

Ursula 1000 (Insect Queen Music) – “I was lucky enough to grab this early on. Sooooo good!”
Morphosis (The Hong Kong Ping Pong Club) – “Yep, this is tasty!”
Mr. Bristow (Subtek) – “Groovy and Synthy. Nice!”
Quincy Jointz (Timewarp Music Radio Show) – “Super tunes. Will play both on my radioshows.”
Aja Allsop (Ketch A Vibe Radio Show) – “Gloriously Groovey.”
Adam Straus (The Church of the Open Mind Art Car) – “Both tracks will get played. Solid production as one expects from Frank. Vibin’ will definitely get the dancefloor going.”

Vested Soul - Give Me A Chance (Super Hi-Fi Recordings / Gated Recordings)

The true identity of Vested Soul remains a mystery — for now! — but these tracks are known floor-fillers. The anonymous but-someone-you-might-know producer delivers four tasty cuts to the Super Hi-Fi label on the Give Me A Chance EP. These are sleek and stylish stompers, filled to the brim with breaks, funk, spacey effects, and oodles of DJ appeal.

Here I Am” announces Vested Soul’s emergence, a busy but sophisticated slew of bright rhythms, sweltering synth pads, bouncing melodies, and syncopated vocal drops. The title track follows, fusing '90s-style breakology with modern production flourishes. Sliced-and-diced vocal snippets parlay with hints of guitar and a rubbery baseline. “Give Me A Chance” is revisited in a ‘reprise’ that brings a deeper beat and extra squelchy synth action, harking back to that classic West Coast Breaks sound. And the EP finishes on a dreamy note with “Questionable Funk,” a somewhat Balearic sounding downtempo cut that exudes a hopeful, summery vibe.

Rory Hoy (Howlin’ Records) – “This is a fantastic EP. Definitely supporting it!”
Steve / Fort Knox Five (Fort Knox Recordings) – “Digging the trippy, funky chill beats.”
DJ Obliveus (The Low End Theory) – “Love this! Absolute new age boogie that will get multiple plays for sure.”
Stereo 77 (Plimsoll Records) – “Questionable Funk for the win. More like this please!”
Toby Roberts (Electric Feel / KXCI) – “Super funky, super fun, super synthy.”
Jon Fugler (XLNT Radio Show) – “Really enjoying this. Something for everyone.”
Velanche (Urban Landscapes Show) – “21st Century soulful goodness.”
DJ Osric (Black and Blue Show) – “This is absolute quality. Very soulful and high quality.”
Andreas Kinzl (Aromabar) – “Strong stuff. Give Me A Chance is sensational.”
Aja Allsop (Ketch A Vibe Radio Show) – “Gloriously soulful with a serious beat.”
