Hardkiss - Cameras Are Watching (Remixes) (Hardkiss Music)

What can you do when you realize there are cameras everywhere? Maybe just dance. “Cameras Are Watching” is the fourth single off of Hardkiss’ album 1991. It features stellar vocals by Austin’s Tameca Jones. The downtempo, glitch-hoppy original from the album provides the jump off point for the variety of funky remixes here.

Echoes of Michael Jackson’s ’80s Rockwellian paranoia, night vision goggles, and smooth house beats highlight the Corduroy Mavericks’ Rox Well Remix.

The All Good Funk Alliance remix brings a sunshine stutter funk to the party.

Gavin Hardkiss makes pervasive surveillance sound shiny, happy, and trippy in his remix; while Robbie Hardkiss’ Eyes in the Elevator Remix whispers acid, tech, and dub, but hollers house-funk. Robbie's remix won't be available commercially -- for now, it's only a part of this special promo package -- so use with caution.

Keep an eye out for the official "Cameras Are Watching" video by Ghost Deep … it'll blow your mind.

By the way, Hardkiss have finally made their '90s catalog available digitally for the first time. Get ahold of all the classics, b-sides, bootlegs, remixes and oddities here: www.pledgemusic.com/hardkiss

Trulz & Robin - Dance Music Therapy Volume 3 (Cymasonic Recordings)

The latest release on Cymasonic Recordings is the third in their Dance Music Therapy series with Trulz & Robin, longtime contributors to the Oslo techno scene with a healthy discography to show for it. Each volume in the series has come with remixes and the newest installment sees Usmev take on this role. It all starts out with the beautiful, soul searching ambient track most properly titled "Adventure". Besides its existence as a wonderful listening experience, the piece also works as a DJ tool for the more creative selectors out there. In Usmev's homage to the original, he respectfully layers on lush sonic accoutrements and makes it a more danceable affair with the use of a steady kick, simmering highs, and an onward-marching bass line, even while slowing the pace down. Pulling away from an otherwise calm start, the boys turn the tempo up with a jiggy techno track in "Øyestikker'n". Meant for those more neurotic dance floor moments, it's still wrapped up in a waywardly deep atmosphere. The final track, "Blue Grass, Green Sky", is a mind blowing techno journey destined to take listeners out of their world in favor of the far flung cosmos, all the while occupying a place on the dance floor. It will leave anyone suspicious with doubts fully conscious of the meaning of the words: Dance Music Therapy.

Laurent Garnier - "Great EP … I will hammer 'Øyestikker'n' everywhere."
Brendon Moeller (Cielo / Bergain) - "Ace originals … well done!"
Nick Warren - "Wonderful EP … full support."

Flash Atkins (Paper Recordings) - "I really like 'Adventure' for those balearic moments."
Rocco (Rodamaal / Real Tone) - "Really nice deep house remix from Usmev."

Koka Mass Jazz - Smile (Cold Busted)

Koka Mass Jazz is the solo-project-turned-party from Konstantin Katsarski. Katarski is a sound designer, musician, songwriter, composer, producer, and engineer -- he does it all -- based in Sofia, Bulgaria. Konstantin could remain a solo artist, but after creating the concept of Koka Mass Jazz in 2013 a band of musicians quickly became involved. Their sound is that of a drunken funk brigade … fun and full of embellishments. Listeners can expect this talented group's work to cover styles ranging across funky breaks, nu jazz, funk, soul, and even a bit of afro-beat. Much of the music and arrangement of the songs are composed by Katarski while the lyrics are written by Denitsa Georgieva.

Their first single release, "Smile”, made its way onto Cold Busted's Bust Free compilation, also serving as the first single from their forthcoming album Groovy Jam Shoes. The original shines bright enough to get anybody out of their shell -- it's a true, feel good funk party starter. For this follow-up, Cold Busted has pulled from its collective family of producers to provide an eclectic, beat-heavy remix package as only their roster could.

The young, prodigious Belgium-based talent Poldoore twists and squeezes "Smile" out into a model nu-disco affair with cut up vocals for added energy. In the hands of the Green Street the song is somehow made even funkier with extra drum rolls and only the best bass line bits. mister T. steps up to the plate with the release's most club-friendly remix … the Athens transplant gives it some serious Greece with a sleazy electro drum break and lead synth. Diving deep into that Cold Busted downtempo sound the world has come to know and love, Manchester's My Neighbour Is packs things into a condensed form while the Polish producer LoopMaffia extends the original elements out in his subtle, and slightly psychedelic, Moonsoul Dub. To wrap up the single, label boss Vitamin D delivers a more linear Re-Edit alongside an instrumental version of the remix from Green Street.

Kid Loco - "Great original track, and superb remixes."
Fort Knox Five - "Loving the jazzy breakbeats! I'm digging the mister T. remix and the original."
All Good Funk Alliance - "Wow, all these remixes are really dope … nice, jazzy, soul vibes all over the fu--king place."
Shantisan (Salted Soul / One Note Samba) - "It's not easy to select a favorite remix here … a nice bundle from start to finish."
Quincy Jointz (Timewarp) - "A very good remix package. I like the remixes by My Neighbour is, Vitamin D, and Poldoore."
tOtALcULt (Cult Music / NuFunk) - "Wow, tough job picking a favorite version. The original is super funky, and the remixers all bring something special to the party. Another strong release."
Flashbaxx - "Nice, diverse remixes. I like the Poldoore remix … it reminds me of the good old Thomas Bangalter days."
Lebrosk (Mixmag) - "I'm loving the chilled vibes on the Poldoore remix!"
Neil Bopperson (Wah Wah 45s / Le Mellotron) - "Loopmaffia's Moonsoul Dub is nice."
DJ Chewy (Alphabeatsoup) - "The original version of this is such a good tune … great vocal in particular. The remixes turn it into a banger, especially Poldoore's disco lick and Green Street's more b-boy breaker."
Double-D (Funky Fresh Radio Show) - "Great rockin' vocal funk ... yeah. Moving!"
Aja Allsop (Ketch-A-Vibe Radio Show) - "Eclectic … full of energy and funk with a gritty bounce."
Clairvo (Tilos Radio, Hungary) - "Each remix has its place during a DJ gig. The originality shines through this release."

Sharper Image - Full of It (Get Up Recordings)

Starting out the 2015 release line-up for Get Up Recordings is “Full of It”, a deep house track from Los Angelian Spencer Moore aka Sharper Image. No stranger to the label, in 2014 Spencer did a brilliant remix for its co-owner Christy Love’s “B.W.F.A.” This time around he releases a major jam with remixes from Chicago’s Alinka and fellow L.A. transplant Kenny Summit.

Born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee, Spencer was surrounded by music from a young age. Stylistically, his production draws upon his southern roots with an enduring love of soul music and the blues which can both be heard on “Full of It”. It’s essentially a dreamy deep house track that swells with vocal snippets and a soulful, bumping bass line.

Alinka takes the helm first with her remix. In addition to running Twirl Recordings out of Chicago with her partner Shaun J. Wright, she has a thirteen year DJ career under her belt, which includes being a resident at Smart Bar and various global trots. Her knowledge of music and personal production style comes from being surrounded by music all the time. She is able to draw from the best sources and make them into her own unique sound. Her Chicago style rips right through on this remix from its jackin’ vocals to the dark, swinging bass line.

Second up on remix duties is Good For You Records head honcho Kenny Summit. Being a New Jersey native comes with all the perks -- like growing up at Zanzibar and Limelight -- but for Kenny this also meant eventually DJ'ing at both legendary venues. His production work with Eric Kupper and the late house music legend Frankie Knuckles can be heard on his GFY label. His style is deep and housey with a bit of the Jersey sound, which can be heard on his take of the song where he makes perfect use of piano key chords and reworks the diva vocal. His interpretation stays a bit truer to the original, making it a beautiful compliment to this release.

Tensnake - "Nice Alinka remix."
DJ Heather - "I'm digging this!"
Justin Harris (Music For Freaks) - "This is a dope EP!"
Vanilla Ace (OFF Recordings) - "Kenny Summit's remix is great."
Elijah Collins (Mullet Records / Retrospective) - "The original is a sick track."
Lil' Mark (Great Lakes Audio / Bump Music) - "Alinka's remix is ace!"
Alkalino (Audaz Recordings) - "The Kenny Summit remix is my pick. That Alinka remix is also cool."
Distant People (Foliage / Seamless) - "This really captures the warehouse vibe … a solid house shaker!"
Chrissy Murderbot (Planet Mu / Loose Squares) - "I'm loving Alinka's remix."
Daz-I-Kue (Future Soul Records) - "Some nice deepness here."
Vincent Kwok (Eight-Fifteen) - "I'm definitely feeling the original track."
Mojo Rising (F.A.M.I.L.Y.) - "Love it. Such a classic old school vibe. Kenny Summit's remix really hits the spot with those deep bass hits."
Michael Fossati (Spirit of House) - "Truly uplifting and inspiring."
Niksa Dragolin (Eurostar Radio, Croatia) - "House house house! I like Alinka's work on the remix … Chicago roots."
DJ Nova (Rodon FM, Greece) - "A delight … this made my day! The piano-driven old school flavor on the solid deep house groove on the original is super."
Jean Jérome (Purpleheadz) - "Real house music right here … nice!"
