Tal M. Klein - Exhaustasaurus EP (Aniligital Music)

San Francisco’s Tal M. Klein reveals the Exhaustasaurus EP, a selection of three original tracks taken from his upcoming album of the same title on Aniligital Music. Inspired by Tal’s consistently exhausted state of mind during its recording sessions, Exhaustasaurus is his third solo album in an impressive discography that dates back to 1997. Included in this discography are also his many in-demand collaborations with Hector Works’ Anthony Mansfield and remixes for the likes of Cornershop, Nickodemus, and Basement Freaks. Like these past endeavors, the new album cuts showcase Tal as an artist who refuses to be constrained by the limitations of any particular genre. The EP starts off with the title track, a heavy house number that builds, kicking into full gear halfway in and never letting go. Second on the release, “The Consequence” slows down the tempo with cut up strings, an evocative piano, and an acid breakdown. Still low in tempo, but this time high in acid, “Perforated” is a sardonic retrospective homage to a time when the TB–303 and TR–909 ruled the electronic music scene. Lovemonk recording artist Casbah 73 and Homebreakin’ Records crew member Spiltmilk heighten elements from the original “Exhaustasaurus” with remixes that twist and turn in completely different directions ending up as perfect additions to a well thought-out EP. Go big or go extinct!

Nick Warren - “‘The Consequence’ is a monster, set to be very big indeed.”
Sunshine Jones (Dubtribe) - “Amazing. I love this.”
Alland Byallo - “Wow, that Casbah 73 mix is brilliant!”
Ursula 1000 - “Me likes!”
Sleazy McQueen - “I’m totally digging the original of ‘Exhaustasaurus’ … nice work!”
Ant Plate (Rhythm Plate / YSE) - “The album’s sounding clean, analoguesque, and deep. I’m liking the low down growl of ‘Perforated’ but it’s the Casbah 73 remix that I’ll be spinning out this weekend.”
Gavin Hardkiss (Hawke) - “Tal rocks my world.”
Hardway Bros (A Love From Outer Space) - “Tal Klein is a massive talent - end of.”
Cyclist (Homebreakin) - “I love the groove of the Splitmilk remix … quality.”
DJ Johnny O aka THE WOLF (Global Rhythm Records) - “This is great package. ‘The Consequence’ is my favorite … I like the triggering sound building up and breaking down again. A perfect intro track. The Casbah 73 remix is also a massive tune with fantastic jazz vibes and bass line. Keep it up.”
Felix Dickinson (Cynic Music) - “I really like ‘Perforated’ … will definitely play.”
Stereo 77 (Research Deluxe) - “Perhaps Tal at his best right here. Plus a Casbah 73 remix? I give this 5 more stars!”
Sumsuch (Colour and Pitch) - “Refreshingly unique record this with a brace of great remixes. Lovely!”
Deadbeat Disco Radio Show - “‘Perforated’ is a bobby dazzler of a track! Second place on the podium goes to the Spiltmilk remix.”

Tal M. Klein - Slow Down EP (Aniligital Music)

Aniligital Music presents Slow Down, a slo-mo slammer of an EP featuring a Tal M. Klein collaboration with Anthony Mansfield (Hector Works) and another with Irregular Disco Workers (Cloned In The Vatican).

First up is “Ciao Bella (Lento Sul Lido).” Here Irregular Disco Workers and TMK dial up a real beauty of a beach track influenced by those late night watchings of Emmanuelle movies with the acid lines of last night’s rave still ringing in the ears.

Next, “Polk Street Stumblin’ (Hey You)" is a pre-AM/TM Anthony and Tal collaboration found in a hidden folder called "gem" in Aniligital’s old studio file cabinet. This "Disco Villain"-era slow disco/jazz fusion track of sleazy proportions is reminiscent of many nights spent stumbling away from a forlorn bar in San Francisco’s Tenderloin district with creatures of the night shouting "hey you!" at the heels of those who pass them by.

diskJokke - “Brilliant!”
Stevie Kotey (Bear Funk) - “Great work guys. ‘Polk Street Stumblin’ (Hey You)’ is like coming down after being stuck in a K-hole for three days. Perfect!”
Soft Rocks - “Similar in vein to the new Simian Mobile Disco cut … and we like!”
Hardway Bros - “Large!”
Alkalino - “‘Ciao Bella’ is prefect for the summer.”
Tim Sweeney (Beats In Space) - “‘Polk Street Stumblin’ (Hey You)’ is the one for me.”
Dr. Dunks (Still Going / Rub N’ Tug) - “Great!”
Robbie Hardkiss - “Driving back to the city over the bay bridge after a long night. Hazy and clear at the same time. Nice!”
LTJ X-Perience - “Heavy hypnotic funk!”
Stereo 77 - “I’m all over ‘Ciao Bella’! Amazing production and overall vibe.”
Bruce Tantum (Time Out NY) - “Wow, nice stuff, gorgeous and pretty damn funky all at once. Hotness!”
Bootsy (For The Love Radio Show) - “Blissed out acid business.”

Also supported by The Glimmers, Cosmo Vitelli, Johnwaynes, Ulysses (Neurotic Drum Band), Severino (Horse Meat Disco), ALTZ, Ant Plate (YSE), Nico De Ceglia, Roual Galloway, and Flash Atkins.

Available now from Juno Download and on orange vinyl from Juno Records.

AM/TM - Who's Afraid Of Monty Luke (Aniligital Music)

AM/TM are San Francisco pro bros Anthony Mansfield and Tal M Klein. “Who’s Afraid Of Monty Luke” is a VERY SERIOUS song Anthony and Tal wrote about their friend Monty Luke who left San Francisco and moved to Detroit so he could live closer to his techno friends and run A&R at Planet-E Communications for someone named Carl Craig who AM/TM think may be related to Carl Cox because they have the same first name. It’s a song about house music, or possibly This Old House, and it might be a tribute to Bob Villa whose last name actually means ‘house’ in Latin. When Monty Luke heard this song he got really scared and locked himself in a dark room which, as his eyes adjusted, he realized was a recording studio. As we all know, the best way to overcome one’s fears is to confront them, and so Monty Luke made a remix for the B-side and submitted it to AM/TM with assurances that he isn’t actually afraid of himself.

Doc Martin - “Freaky deeky work!”
Trevor Jackson (Output / Playgroup) - “The Monty Luke Remix is great.”
Sleazy McQueen (Whiskey Disco / Bear Funk) - “Frighteningly good…”
Joshua Iz (Vizual) - “Seriously … This is dope! Carl Cox or Carl Craig would approve.”
Cosmic Boogie - “Wobbly goodness.”
Three (Hallucination Limited) - “Mr. Mansfield has got the touch these days. The Monty Luke Remix is super good and I will play it a lot.”
Bruce Tantum (Time Out NY) - “Nicely kooky tune from two of my favorite Bay Area producers! I’m loving the toughened-up remix, as well.”
Monsieur Monod (SleazyBeats blog) - “Sterling stuff. The original is incredible and I can’t wait to try it out on a big system.”
Lee Jarvis (MyCuppaT blog) - “Heavy! Will definitely play the original a lot.”
Black Alley (In Control Radio Show) - “Good to see someone putting the fun back into the house.”

Also supported by Maceo Plex, Makossa & Megablast, Richie Hawtin, Onionz, Inland Knights, Horse Meat Disco, Flash Atkins, DJ Sabo, Jota Wagner, and Stereo 77.
