Sonic Future - Time Out (294 Records)

294 Records returns with a new single from Sonic Future. The Brazilian duo is comprised of Cesar Funck and VJ Leo, who have over twenty combined years involved in the music and video industry. Their music range today covers tech, funky, and disco house, sometimes transitioning into the atmospheric and deep. They have released with major independent dance music labels like Suara, Noir, and Toolroom. "Time Out" showcases what Sonic Future does best with melodic breakdowns, uplifting vocals, and a massive tech house groove - sleek, machine-finished club ammunition through and through.

Koka Mass Jazz - Groovy Jam Shoes (Cold Busted)

Koka Mass Jazz is the solo-project-turned-party from Konstantin Katsarski. Katarski is a sound designer, musician, songwriter, composer, producer, and engineer -- he does it all -- based in Sofia, Bulgaria. Konstantin could remain a solo artist, but after creating the concept of Koka Mass Jazz in 2013 a band of musicians quickly became involved. Their sound is that of a drunken funk brigade … fun and full of embellishments. Listeners can expect this talented group's work to cover styles ranging across funky breaks, nu jazz, funk, soul, and even a bit of afro-beat. Much of the music and arrangement of the songs are composed by Katarski while the lyrics are written by vocalist Denitsa Georgieva.

Their first single, "Smile”, made its way onto Cold Busted's Bust Free compilation before receiving the full remix treatment from the label's family of beat-smiths in a well-received follow-up release. That just whetted appetites for KMJ's new twelve track album Groovy Jam Shoes, where the party continues on in true, feel-good funk fashion. It features a barrage of big band energy, jam-packed with highlights. Highlights include the limb-liberating cut "Freedom" which layers on rhythmic guitar, wah-wah licks, and screeching organs. A fierce percussive workout, "Rhythm By Rhythm" unleashes rickety, afro-cuban drums, vocal scatting, and chants sure to lift dancers out of their environment and drop them into another land. "Keep The Groove" sees Denitsa's singing at its finest and most commanding while horns, sax, and flairs of a psychedelic guitar riff propel the song forward. Rounding off the album, "You Will Be Done" serves as a more introspective cool down after so much heated funk. This debut full length on Cold Busted -- Groovy Jam Shoes --leaves no doubt that the 'mass' in Koka Mass Jazz is short for massive sound.

Kid Loco - "Great grooves."
Freddy Fresh (Howlin' Records) - "Some very nice tunes … I really like 'Rhythm By Rhythm'."
Mark Farina - "Fun stuff."
All Good Funk Alliance - "'Sofia's Street Lights' is damn hot!"
DJ Wash (Funk the System / Butter Music) - "Awesome release. This is so groovy!"
Phat Phil Cooper (NuNorthern Soul) - "Party starters! Yes, I will enjoy playing these."
mister T. (Cold Busted) - "Just heard one of the strongest releases of 2015. Mass congrats to Konstantin and his cats for this super-groovy album."
Inland Knights - "Good stuff as ever."
Mojo Rising (Cold Busted / F.A.M.I.L.Y.) - "Live funk at its best! Masters of their craft, Koka Mass Jazz does not disappoint."
Double-D (Funky Fresh Radio Show) - "Super cool. Great songs with a very danceable party feeling."
Aja Allsop (Ketch A Vibe Radio Show) - "Groovyfunkyjazzy … I love it!"
DJ Doubles (Freestyle Fusion) - "Great work! A fine symbiosis between organic and electronic elements while keeping the groove spot on."
Jamie Topham (CDPool) - "Sweeter than a bowl of ripe cherries … I'm loving the KMJ sound!"
Lemar Soulflower (Soul Deep NYC) - "Reminiscent of some of my favorite 'Acid Jazz' hybrids. Connecting rhythms from throughout the world."

Christy Love - Paradise (Get Up Recordings)

Next up from Get Up Recordings is the tech house slammer “Paradise” from label owner Christy Love. The package includes the original and two remarkable remixes by fellow NYC DJs and producers The Carry Nation and Lauren Flax, each adding further depth to the release.

Christy Love has been immersed in the house music scene for more than two decades and is one of the most sought-after DJs in NYC because she consistently destroys dance floors all over the city and beyond. Her distinct sets are comprised of a clever mixture of classic and modern house bursting with driving beats and funky bass lines, playing a pivotal role in defining the current underground sound of New York. This DJ prowess, combined with her production work as House of Stank with longtime collaborator W. Jeremy and the success of their label Get Up Recordings, has transformed Christy into a house music triple threat. Her production work on “Paradise” is characteristic of her other work; it has a big, thumping bass line complimented by a driving house percussive beat. She cleverly uses vocal samples to highlight elements of the track. The orchestration of the organ stabs, reminiscent of the '90s industrial rave sound, really becomes hypnotic and makes this into a lovely big room house track.

First up on remix duties is The Carry Nation, a NYC-based production team comprised of Will Automagic and Nita Aviance. Both noted producers and DJs on their own in the NYC and London scene, their collaboration brings a unique, stripped down version of “Paradise” to the table. The remix is a true 'bonus beats' type of track with heavy drums, claps, rides, and cymbals. The quick, choppy use of rhythm is The Carry Nation’s signature style.

The second remix of “Paradise” comes courtesy of Lauren Flax, a DJ, songwriter, and producer from NYC. Flax is currently a member of the band CREEP with long-time collaborator Lauren Dillard and was the official Fischerspooner tour DJ from 2008 - 2011. Her debut single, “You’ve Changed”, featured vocals by Sia of Zero7 fame. Flax’s remix is a beautiful departure from the original and The Carry Nation’s addition. She gets real deep and warm with her complex take on “Paradise”. Using the strong elements of the original, she adds analog bass and hits that make it into a full on dreamy, melodic track all its own.

DJ Heather - "As usual, fantastic stuff from Christy Love."
Vanilla Ace - "The original is great and I like the Lauren Flax remix for the warm up."
Lupe Fuentes (Inhouse Records / Nervous Records) - "My favorite is the original."
Hard Ton (Gigolo / Permanent Vacation) - "The Carry Nation remix is the one for me."
Alinka (Classic Music Co. / Twirl Chicago) - "I love the whole release … great work!"
Severino (Horse Meat Disco) - "That Carry Nation remix is sexy! I love the original, too."
DJ Craig C (Peace Bisquit / Pound Boys) - "This is what I'm talking about … "Paradise" is some serious stuff! That will get rocked."
Pat Lezizmo (Conya Records / Karmaloft) - "Lauren Flax brings the right emotion in the track. I love it!"
Al Bradley (3am Recordings) - "Really cool … all three have quality, but the Carry Nation version is an original slice of beatiness. It's good for when you want to break the 4-on-the-floor flow and throw some jerky-movements onto the dance floor."
Sumsuch (Colour and Pitch / Mega Jawns) - "The original is great, but the deep vibes on the Lauren Flax mix win it for me."
Sam Hopkins (AccuRadio, Chicago) - "Both of the remixes are stellar. I love the deep, almost balearic Lauren Flax mix, and the Carry Nation mix is a tech-y groover."
Louis Hughes (6th Sense Music) - "Peak time tech-house right here. The remixes are nice but it's all about the original for me."
Corbin Dooley (Electric Feel Radio Show) - "Grooves to get us ready for the beach parties. I really like the morning vibe of the Lauren Flax remix."
Kosta (Vibe FM / Dance FM) - "Possibly the best single I've heard this year. The house is strong with this one!"

Senor Prezidente - Can You See It (Dimentique)

New kid on the block Senor Prezidente has jumped on board with the Dimentique label family by means of his debut single, “Can You See It”. The Manchester artist is coming in hot with a fidgety bass line and a spaced-out, eerie vibe heightened by tense build ups, all tied together in UK garage influences. The crafty rave elements of this house track show Senor's deep drum n' bass and jungle roots. “Can You See It” brings back that late '90s and early 2000s feel of classic, illegal underground street raves around the UK, the results of which continue to reverberate through today's big clubs and festivals. This single's healthy mix of influences happily joins in that sound.

Tariq Ziyad (Planet Rave / Dark Horse) - "I love speed garage and bass line house and this track hits the spot. This guy is a great producer … I look forward to hearing more from him."
Phonatics (Housesession Records) - "This is freakin' tight!"
Mojo Rising (Cold Busted / F.A.M.I.L.Y.) - "Nicely done. This has a speed garage feel which is actually refreshing to hear in this day and age of EDM excess."
Kid Enigma (Great Lakes Audio / 1200 Traxx) - "Awesome track!"
Sam Hopkins (AccuRadio, Chicago) - "I dig it … nice bass work!"
Revival88 (Strictly House FM / Househeads Radio) - "What an absolute tune … pure vibes. Propa stormin' tune! I can see me caning this for ages."
Radha Kotliarsky (The EDM Network) - "This is huge."
DJ Lolly (Freek FM / Ruff Diamond) - "Loving the vibe on this bass."
Corbin Dooley (Electric Feel Radio Show) - "Great UK sound … big ups!"
